Beautiful Inheritance

So thanks to my dear friend Sarah Hewes, I now have a blog....how about that? :)
I've been studying Hebrews over the last couple of weeks and the Lord has completely stunned me with the reality and relevancy of the supremacy of His Son. I have found myself in awe, yet humbled at the way the Father has designed the role of Christ, the new covenant, and the cross- to rescue us from the domain of darkness into His marvelous light! I love how He opens our eyes- as if for the first time and it registers. A few verses in the last part of Chapter 2 left me wowed a few nights ago. "For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one origin. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying 'I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.'....and again 'Behold, I and the children God has given me." The reality of those verses hit me for the first time. Christ and I, as a believer, have one origin. I come from the same place as the Savior- what Grace. Chosen before the foundations of the world, despite my failings and shortcomings. Here is the AWESOME part about the inheritance God has created for us!! In these verses Jesus Christ calls us His brothers and His children. We are His brothers in that we have the same origin as Him, The Father. We share in a beautiful inheritance with Christ as a brother. But He also calls us His children, because of salvation. He purchased us, washing us with His blood, making us new. Giving us a new name. And we also share in that same inheritance as a child- a sinner redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! What mercy and grace the Lord has poured out on us His children to be in the family of Christ. There is no greater thing
